Early head start program in los angeles

Give your child the very best start in life with Early Head Start. Pregnant mothers can even benefit from Early Head Start resources and services, such as parenting and nutrition classes to learn how to fully take care of themselves and their babies. Infants as young as six weeks old can enroll in the Early Head Start program. For very young children, every moment is an opportunity for learning. Our Early Head Start staff is specially trained in early childhood development.

We read and talk to your infants and toddlers to build vocabulary, and encourage them to explore their world through play, song, touch, sight, and sound.

We use routine and structure to make them feel safe and build trust. Plus, we provide you with resources to support healthy development and learning at home, family health and nutrition, and coordinate services for children with special needs.

At least ten percent of enrollment is reserved for children with disabilities. Children with suspected and identified disabilities receive appropriate services and support. One of the key components is the participation and dedication of parents and family members. We offer parent and family member activities including classes, trainings and workshops at all of our sites. We work with parents to create goals and identify strategies to meet those goals.
