A woman gone mad by kimber s. dawn epub
One last note as I know that this is the end of this story, but I do hope that Kimber S. Feb 06, Donna rated it it was amazing. I bow to Kimber S. Dawn and seek her forgiveness for thinking she couldn't possibly top A Woman Gone Mad. I am thrilled to say I was SO wrong. AWGM will forever hold a special place in my heart for reaching parts of my soul that even I didn't know existed, and now with the addition of Holding Her in Madness right by its side, I feel complete.
I had my reservations about this book initially thinking it could quite possibly end up being a simple re-telling of Lil's story, only from Leo's POV. I've never been happier to be so wrong in my life. This book is exactly what it claims to be - Leo's side of loving A Woman Gone Mad - reminding us that there are always 2 sides to every story. Leo not only takes us through his version of events that we read about in AWGM, but also gives us insight to some of the missing pieces we weren't privy to in Lil's story.
We find out more about what happens after that fateful evening when Lil exits his Camaro at the end of summer and after he's threatened by her father. The journey Leo takes us on is every bit, if not more, heart wrenching than Lil's was.
We see the long term effects of his constant struggle to overcome his demons which are a direct result of losing what he perceives to be his reason for living - Lil.
During Leo's journey, we are introduced to Annalise. To avoid giving away any spoilers, I won't go into details, but suffice it to say she plays a pivotal role in the puzzle that is Leo and Lil's life. There are so many words that I could use to describe this story; real, raw, gritty, heart wrenching, soul gripping This is simply a book that you MUST read.
You will never find a more all consuming love than the one shared by Leo and Lil. It may not be typical, and at most times it's definitely not healthy, but it is THEIR story, and I found myself relating to it in many ways. Your emotions will be rode hard and wrung out after reading this, but it is so worth it when you get that glimpse of bliss at the end.
Kimber's writing style is superb in making you connect to these characters, so much so, that you feel like you're the one experiencing every heartache and turmoil, every happiness however fleeting it may be , and every hot and sexually satisfying moment.
I would give this book 10 stars if I could. I can't wait to see what Kimber comes up with next. Jul 17, Shanyn rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorite-characters , read-in The concept of true love has been dissected seven ways to Sunday a thousand times over since the beginning of time. To say this man is rough around the edges is the understatement of the century. He is sandpaper rubbing you the wrong way just by existing.
But quite quickly, you start falling love with that delicious friction. You start being wooed by his intense honesty. You find yourself falling head over heels at how he does everything full throttle. When we met Leo in A Woman Gone Mad we only really got to see snippets of him until much later in the book. I did not fall in love with him in that book, but I fell hard for him in this book. Getting the chance to see the world through his eyes, getting to read page after page of his gorgeous cadence had me thoroughly enamored in no time.
Dawn has crafted yet another incredibly heart rending book that gutted me without warning. The flow and arc of this story is masterful in its pacing and sheer sweep. Sobbing, laughing and wishing for just one more chapter. The sheer heart and soul put into those scenes are equally romantic, heart wrenching and incredibly passionate. The only thing life will ever promise you is change. And lord knows, Leo goes through more than his fair share of change in this book.
But going on that journey with him is an endeavor of tragedy, nostalgia and unrelenting love. There is so much beauty in this story that it serves to take even the most tragic pieces and make them feel worth it. Is this story an emotional roller coaster of the highest degree? Yes, absolutely. Is it also gorgeously written, beautifully told and absolutely worth the heart shredding?
Yes it is. May 17, The Book Fairy Reviews rated it it was amazing. I cried my ass off and went to work with book depression. Yes, that is a real condition! I read all night because Leo was just Fing awesome!!!! Yes I cried all the way through the book. I cried for Lil. Then I cried for Leo.
The I cried for Analise. I cried for both Leo and Lil. When I came to the end I cried because I had finished. That is what you call book depression. Sounds sad right? But the beauty of this is that it was magnificent! I loved it! It was cathartic crying because Epic!
It was cathartic crying because when you read this book it is real. It is RAW. It isn't your typical romance novel it is the boy next door romance. The man you fell for that you lost and by chance bump into them again. Yeah reality. And though you don't get the happy ending that you dreamed of as a girl when you realized that you are falling in love.
This book gives you the possibility of living through it in the way you dreamed. Don't know what I am talking about? Yes, yes you do! Think back to when you got your heart broken for the first time. Well when it didn't happen you were devastated. Flash forward You know you have thought about it.
Well Kimber puts it out there for you to imagine it. Because Lil and Leo well they find out that first Love can be everlasting you just have to keep holding on and fight for it. No matter the time or distance. I love her writting it was real. Real, Raw and Epic are the words that come to mind when I think of this book.
Lil and Leo are my new Romeo and Juliet. Maria and Tony Only they don't die they live. I give this book 10 stars. I can't stop thinking of these 2 characters who now live in my heart along with my favorites. I can't wait to read more of what this author has to give.
Apr 09, Reckless Readers rated it it was amazing. Lil is my everything. My world tilts on it axis in this exact moment and never truly rights itself again. I will never love anyone the way I love her. This story has ripped my heart out and stomped on it But I wouldn't have had it another way. This is a real, gritty story. First off Leo is a straight forward as they come. And I love it! Throughout this whole read I cried, and screamed in my pillow when I read in bed at night.
I felt all of Leo's emotions, his anger, his moments of happiness.. The part where Lil's dad comes up to Leo had me on edge. I wanted to scream at Leo and tell him to go after Lil!! The moment where he let her out of that car..
I wanted to hate him but I couldn't. For a while he spent so much time apart from Lil. He wasn't physically with her but he was with her mentally, spiritually and emotionally. He was so connected to her, and as much as he tried to fill that void he just couldn't. They were always meant to be. I knew some how some way fate would bring them back. But even when it brought them back together that didn't guarantee a beautiful love story. Lil had already been through too much.
She was broken.. And he loved her so damn much. Another amazing amazing read A Woman Gone Mad must be read before this. Feb 06, Daniela Rodriguez rated it it was amazing.
And I fucking love it! I ugly cried like a little bitch Shelves: review-posted-to-blog , erotica , thc-reading-challenge , reading-to-review.
Raw, Real, Wrecked, and Loved The use of emotions that grip you to your core and make you feel the highs and lows are intense. Absolutely not my mothers fairy tale or fiction for that matter!
Leo is incredible and sexy and strong, but even the strong have breaking points. His just involves one fire-cracker of a woman who even as a young woman, tattoo's her name on his heart and mind. Even fighting a Raw, Real, Wrecked, and Loved Even fighting against the urges to forget her and move on he can't and you feel his pain and depth of longing and love for her.
Annalise is the girl next door who yes, is a stipper and falls for Leo even though she is moving forward from a heartbreak in her own life. A whirlwind romance, with her trying to hold onto a tornado that is Leo.
And even she knows, "No matter how much I loved you, it would never be enough. I'll never be enough. She knows that Leo and Lil are written in the stars.
Real life is a beautiful yet painful struggle. It's a poetic pull and tug of smiles and tears, laughter and sobs. The author takes your emotions and shakes you to your core and you can't help not wanting to put the book down and get to the end just to know what happens next. If I could review this a million times over there wouldn't be enough stars to cover the incredible story of 'Leo and his Lillian'!
Apr 06, Anny hernandez rated it it was amazing. Leo is his own brand of fucked up, but he is stronger than his demons and is able to pull himself from the depths of his own hell and heal. When he being giving a second chance with Lil, he thinks his finally gone get to be happy but tragedy strikes and his gives up on Lil, but during that time Leo knows everything that Lil is doing, and he don't know what to do to save her, but one day Leo gets a phone call, that phone call change everything once again.
I really love and enjoy reading this story, even though I got mad at the characters but I love them, this book had my emotion in a roller coaster, I did not know what to do with y self after I read this, the Author did an amazing job writing this book, Author Kimber S.
Mar 25, Laney Summers rated it it was amazing. This book is not a fairytale it is dark and gritty and deals with some real life messed up issues. That being said Kimber S. Dawn hit another home run with this story. This story takes you through the roller coaster ride that Leo was on throughout her first book.
Leo always loved Lil he followed her through hell and back again. In this book we see where exactly all the madness takes him. We travel his paths and fell his anguish.
With all of his attempts to create a normal life for himself his demons always resurfaced. His regrets for Lil became his constant battle ground. Lil however let life suck her into this downfall that she just cant seem to break free of, She spirals and spirals so far out of control. Kimber takes us on this incredible journey with these characters that have laid root in my heart.
This book with suck you in from the beginning, it shreds you, and leaves you hanging onto her words. I cannot recommend this book enough it was a five plus stars in my book. Feb 08, Debra Presley rated it really liked it. I learned the real story behind why he left hi Holding Her In Madness is the sequel to A Woman Gone Mad and in order to read this book you really need to read the first book.
I learned the real story behind why he left his firecracker behind. Her father is a son of a bitch and really ruined two lives. Leo too suffered a lot while they were apart. It was really heartbreaking. I loved that we saw some of the things he hinted at in A Woman Gone Mad.
Their lives really sort of ran parallel to one another for a lot of this story. These almost meetings were sometimes on purpose but other times there were by chance or fate.
He really does save her. I loved the epilogue and it brought a tear to my eye. Solid four stars! Apr 10, For the Love of Books rated it it was amazing.
Dawn has an amazing ability! And what is this amazing ability, you may ask Well, simply put, she has the ability to write a fuckin' awesome story that will knock your socks off and take you on a crazy emotional roller coaster from beginning to end!
And trust me, that's hard to do! As with the first book, this is not a lovey dovey fairy tail full of rainbows, hearts, ponies, and glitter. This is a real life, rip your heart out, love and loss romance. Leo's side of the story shines a spotlight on a ton of things from A Woman Gone Mad and it's like finally adjusting the lens and having the picture come fully into focus.
I loved getting to read all of Leo's thoughts and everything he would do to get his girl! I definitely fell in love with him a little more! It's not an option! So go out and one-click this book now! Feb 06, Sabrina Lynn rated it it was amazing. Wow amazing! Kimber does it again.
This chick knows how to mess with your head. I swear it can be one amazing movie. This who journey of Lil and Leo. The whole this is one messed up relationship.
Filled with hurt, anger, lies Have you read AWGM? Well go read that first. While I was reading I would imagine my self in Lil's place. Everytime I did I would cry. Not a good cry. No happy cry here. This girl one moment is great and then BAM! If I stars!!!!! If I could live one day in the mind of Kimber. Just one. The incredible craziness in her mind must be amazing.
Another book that has crawled it's way deep into my soul. It will never leave. It's become a part of me. So many emotions I felt reading both books. No words can describe what I felt.
If I were to go through any of this shit I would of been dead. Couldn't take any of the heart break. None of it. Wow Just wow! Kimber you amaze me. Always have and I know you always will. Love you doll. Apr 07, Countrygalssexyreads rated it it was amazing. You starting out , well getting a "Fuck You" from Leo. This my friends, starts the bluntness of Leo and his side of the story.
I could not put this book down for nothing. So much passion , darkness, this takes you back and every emotion you felt from AWGM, well you get it again Leo truly loves Lil in his own screwed up way. You can't help but fall in love with him and his persistence to get Lil. Lil let everyone live her life for her and let life go away from her.
She never truly lived with Leo and him the same way. Sure, they both found companionship , but never true love. This book is a journey of raw emotions! Also you get a little more of a ending to this book. It is a good day when a find a writer new to you and the first two books you read are 5 star! Be warned you will be brought on a roller coaster of emotions and there well may be some ugly crying but it is oh so worth it.
Oh and the epilogue is perfect. Why are there not more reviews for these books they brilliantly engaging, the characters chemistry and angst jumps off the page.
Apr 14, Rachel rated it it was amazing. As if A woman gone mad doesn't kick you on your ass hard enough, Holding her in madness comes back and sucker punches you straight to the gut. First we get Lil's side to the story, then in Holding her in Madness we get Leo's side, which is raw and real and fucks up your insides and makes you want something, anything good to happen for this beautifully damaged couple!
I can't give this book enough praise! It was fucking fantastic! I loved the way it all came together in the end, this just proves that even after life kicks you on your ass more times than you think you can take, having someone there beside you who offers unconditional and undying love will pull you from the clutches of hell and bring you back.
Jun 08, Sonya rated it it was amazing Shelves: all-time-favorites. This story is from Leo's POV. Usually I don't read those stories because they are just the same words that we heard in the first story. Please don't let this stop you from reading this one!!! Instead of rehashing what Lil has already told us in "A Woman Gone Mad", it gives us insight into what happened between Lil's dad and Leo and what Leo went through after he left Lil.
These two stories are not the typical love story you are use to reading, but if you want something different that will have y This story is from Leo's POV. These two stories are not the typical love story you are use to reading, but if you want something different that will have your emotions on a rollercoaster ride then take a chance on these two books! I must say that I did feel so sorry for 'Lise. As woman I think most of us have given our all to someone who can't love us in return.
I felt her pain! If you want something that is more than just a fairytale you have to read this book!!! Mar 26, Natalie rated it it was amazing. Totally blown away and filled with emotion!
I loved this book so hard! This book is in true Kimber S. Dawn style. She puts all her heart and soul into her stories. Must read. I usually don't read alternate points of view because I feel like it's the same ish on repeat Not this time! This book is completely different! You learn so much that twists and ravels from book 1 that it really is a book 2 and not like a regular alternate POV book. It Totally blown away and filled with emotion! It was amazing, it was gut-wrenching! It just wasn't fitting of his character up to that point.
Throughout the book I wanted to shake everyone. Wake the fuck up. Use your words. Have a conversation. Try to get some help. It's apparent throughout the book who Lil's true love is. And even when Lil gets a second chance at love it's not hearts and flowers. Good vs. Warring with the decisions she makes and the things that she experiences.
I found the voices confusing at times. It's never really addressed. So many times, I just wanted Lil to get help. She did experience so much pain in her life. And that's one of the things I did like.
A lot of what Lil went through was real. Things that a lot of us have gone through or know someone that has gone through. This was a very emotional, almost depressing read. Yet at the same time, the author's writing style was filled with humor. And while the happy moments were few and far between, they were sexy and filled with an intense love. A few final thoughts Allen: This broke my heart. Wes: This was another plot hole for me. Lil: The timelines were also confusing.
At times I couldn't track how old people were when things were happening, etc. Because of this and the plot holes, I just can't rate it any higher. But I did like it, I just didn't love it. It was an emotionally draining read, but a potentially very real read. View all 22 comments. Nov 12, Melisa Hamling rated it it was amazing Shelves: can-t-wait-for-release , favorites. I'll admit it, I wasn't sure what to think when I first started reading.
It wasn't a drag me in to the story Each chapter drew me in further until I was so absorbed that I couldn't stop. Not until My heart was cut out and fed back to me. I'll admit it. I broke the ef down and cried. Washed the makeup off because I could no longer dab the tears away. It was the realism, knowing the events that made me cry were real and true.
And then to have to deal with another blow, and another? I wanted to take Lil' under my wings and find the beautiful HEA she deserves.
There are some crazy times, some crazy teen moments I could totally relate to. Midlife changes I could relate to and pain I could relate to, but on some levels, I'm not sure if I could deal with some of the most tragic moments. I certainly was crushed with the pain of knowing and dealing with what Lil' had to deal with. Life is not fair. Not in the least. Life can be cruel, it can bring us to the lowest depths and to a point we feel we cannot come back and give up, but it's all of those things that can make us a stronger person.
This isn't a story where you can complain though people will find a way to complain about anything that is nothing about the characters, not when it's based on a true story. And not when you run with the heroine and know her pain, feel her pain right with her.
It's the happy moments that took away a little of the heartache I felt and I really want more of Lillian's future. LOVED it. It drew every emotion out of me and I love that.
This is a story for those who can take a beating, who can handle the gritty and the emotional pitfalls. It's not a story for the weak, but more for those who can handle descriptive writing and more than a PG sex scene. Can't wait to have a paperback copy :b.

Whilst reading this mad woman's sad excuse for "Every heartbreak a woman experiences throughout her life leaves a scar behind, and these scars never fully heal. Whilst reading this mad woman's sad excuse for a life, I found that any book that can stir up so many feelings in me is worth at least a 4 star The story is the diary of Lily It starts of from present day and then the story takes us back to when she was a kid.
Everything that happened in her life to get her to this point. A sweet young girl who was best friends with her brother The sweet girl grows up a little and begins noticing guys. Her first boyfriend First love First heartbreak Yeah we all have those as kids and it's funny how we don't realize how shit like that sets the course of your life So Lily has these voices in her head that she claims tells her what to do That little subconscious voice that makes a good girl a bad girl Loving Leo, loosing her virginity in a motel room Then hurting again when Leo makes promises then leaves her See this is life We all get hurt when we kids, more often then not the one to hurt us the most will always be 'The great Love' The hurt that you will forever remember After this Lily will never be the same again Strings of flings, sex and a whole lot of shit we wallow in Lilys self pity with her like crazed maniacs just to see what happens next.
Lily is a mad woman, and she makes us crazy Then by some miracle through all her sluttish ways, she's lucky to find a guy who loves her for who she is. Skank and all. A handsome, sweet, wealthy, smart man Nick Now this has the part where a normal person would count their blessings to find love Then doubt it But that's just the thing isn't it, when you get over the infatuation and again get yet another shock of life, you start doubting instead of counting your blessings.
The voices in Lilys head get louder after this And this is the beginning of the end. It's not good enough to have a handsome husband who would kiss the ground you walk on Somewhere after a few years of marriage you start doubting it, pulling away and finding fault.
Always looking for something Something more Chasing Ghosts maybe? Then comes the pity party Fuck me this woman made me want to strangle her. Everyone at some stage thinks their lives are shit so does that mean we must give up?
Emotionally check out if your marriage. There is so much more and the cowards way out. For the record, Lily hate you, you selfish bitch! I don't know what kind of person can do the shit she did and still look herself in the mirror everyday! There are many holes in the storyline so if you can deal with that and a whole bunch of rage, this really isn't a bad book. View all 17 comments. This book was one wow journey that had me crazy mad and emotional one Way too much questions that I needed answers.
It was brilliant read, well- written and we certainly will know few repeated words are our author's favourite. This book was written based on real life events which makes it really brilliant. Reading about life of a girl named Lilian Shaw and her struggle made me feel sorry for her and I was kinda reeling.
LEO, on t This book was one wow journey that had me crazy mad and emotional one I can't wait for more of LEO!!! A train wreck read, that it was.
Well done, Kimber!!! Will I Recommend? View 2 comments. I feel so privileged that I received an arc for this book, the story just blew me away!! All good things must come to an end eventually!!
Lillian's story is raw, tragic, emotional, inspirational, a truly gritty story inspired by true events, it will have you on a roller coaster of craziness that is Lillian's life.. This book will leave your emotions reeling even when you've read that last page.. This is not a "Fairy Tale" love story, so prepare yourself now!! Blow after blow Lillian tries her damnedest to stay optimistic.. For as long as Lillian can remember she has been on a search for her sole mate which went as far back as kindergarten..
That searching need slowly morphed into obsession.. I guess things really started to look up for Lillian when Leo came into her life.. She thought he'd never noticed her, but how wrong could she be!! Fuck I've been watching you with your long blond hair down your back, flittin' around here wearing those fuckin sexy daisy dukes, and those fine as hell short, somehow long looking tanned legs all summer long, Lil.
Just not looking when you know it. I guess this is where the cracks that are holding Lillian together start to open up more.. Darkness and Depression become her constant companion, her Refuge Then along comes Nicolas, things start looking up, then just like everything in Lillian's life they drastically take a turn for the worst, this is where my heart was split open..
He will build me, strengthen me, help me grow, he will give me happily ever after. He wasn't the right fit, or even strong enough to be her Knight In Shining Armour.. I'm going to leave this review here, mainly because I've posted a few teasers and the fact that I don't want to reveal any spoilers.. Starts humming: Goo Goo Dolls, "Black Balloon" This is going to be a book that will stay in my mind for days, weeks, months to come, a book I will go back and reflect on and read again..
Some parts of this book were a little confusing but overall I enjoyed reading it. It saddened me how hard of a life Lil had and how much shit she had to deal with.
This book spans over twenty years too so keep that in mind. What is also weird is growing up in small town Louisiana I have seen half of the same shit she went through. And I did enjoy the writing on this book. I laughed numerous times and felt some flashbacks. That being said I have many thoughts regarding this book I have no idea what happened with Michael. Was he secretly gay? Was he mad that she wouldn't do it with him?
What was the deal with Wesley? Was he there for her to learn and experiment? Did she even really like him or was he just there? Leo creeped me out a little bit Ok a lot I mean he was trying to get her pregnant at I did realize she never had the same relationship with anyone else since she didn't get closure with their relationship. You know its true love when he cleans blood off the motel wall for you. And then there was Clark Clark was a filler rebound love to distract her from Leo But it didn't work very well.
How ironic she didn't want Leo knocking her up considering she got knocked up at 18, by Nick. The one good thing is they actually had a relationship and he loved her I loved loved loved Nick But then he did a complete So sad. I'm wasn't surprised though that view spoiler [ he kept Bella.
And then she saw Leo again I can't say I was surprised. Am I the only one who was a little creeped out that he has been basically stalking and keeping tabs on her the whole time? He did truly love her though and I'm glad he made something of himself. I felt that Lillian was selfish and that was part of her problem.
Almost to the point that I hated her character. But then again, that's how she was written. And Allen Awww I loved Allen's character. He was a great little brother! This book drove me mad from the second I saw the first teaser on facebook. I clung to that, searched out Kimber's author page and I have officially became a raving mad lunatic of a fan girl.
I have read this book 2x now in just a few days, learned how to make teasers because I love this book so damn much, and could prob read it everyday for the rest of my life and I would be okay with that.
This book is top shelf bitches and that is where it will remain until the day I die. If I could give it a billion gazillion trillion fucking stars I would. I started this book thinking that Lillian was living a semi decent existence in a marriage when her long lost love comes slamming back into her life.
Boy was I was mistaken. AWGM starts off with Lillian waking up in a hotel room lost to the world, lost to herself, and dealing with the voices that she has listened to throughout her entire life. I really liked being able to hear what they had to say to her. Lillian's voices seem to be broken pieces of herself that she shoves into the farthest recesses of her mind so as to not deal with those aspects of herself.
At this point you see Lillian at her worst and the book then does a complete and brings you back to the earlier years of her life. From here you get to experience every major life event with her as you make the trip down timeline lane to the present day time at the end.
You get to follow along and watch Lillian's slow demise that she brings upon herself. I'm not gonna talk about every single thing that happened in this story. Buy the book and find out for yourself. You will hate me and love me for recommending this book. But I will say this.
I fucking love Kimber and her style of writing. She took me through this story holding my hand as I experienced this fucked up roller coaster of emotions. She makes you laugh, she makes you cry, she makes you feel so desolate and broken that you never feel like you will find the right glue to put your ass back together.
Then when you least expect it, she picks you up, breathes life back into the lungs you thought were broken by showing you love and starts piecing those shards you thought were lost forever back into place. That's all before ripping you apart again. I connected so much with this story on a personal level that it's days later and I am still experiencing the fucking agony of what she put me through. You know what, I'm okay with that because I will never find another book like it and I don't want to.

I received this as an ARC and I'll try really really really really hard not to give anything away First of all - I'm am feeling awed, amazed, depressed, excited, awed, depressed Second of all - when I started this at pm tonight, I did not expect to be up still, at 3AM!!!!
And I just finished. This book is amazing. No, really, amazing. This woman is an inspiration. Don't get me wrong, you will start this book th Five completely blew me away stars!
Don't get me wrong, you will start this book thinking she is freaking crazy, and ya know? She might be. Like MP disorder or something. Especially when you meet Lilith No cliff hanger, thank god, but awful, crazy, nasty, depressive, awful sadness The thousands of shattered pieces that remain of woman's heart is nothing more than a battered piece of scarred tissue that still functions as a vital organ to keep us alive" This is NOT for the faint of heart, it is not for those who believe that bad things come to those who deserve it Because the reality is?
Life sucks and we either learn how to deal, or we don't. I just want to talk, gab, scream and cry about this book to anyone who will read it. It's incredibly hot, in the beginning Lil will annoy the hell out of you, but after awhile you'll see the truth, something awful will happen and you'll cry, then more awfulness happens and you'll cry even more, and then you'll be left just sobbing into your pillow True story, speaking from experience here and nearly 4am!
So anyways, enough ranting, and I'll leave you will one life, eye-opening quote, that everyone I'm sure knows by heart: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Dear author: you are completely amazing. Thank you for sharing your story and please know that I will never, ever forget this story, I will continuously re-read it, shout out to the heavens that every woman read this tale, and I will learn to live my life to the fullest, because I've learned from you that tomorrow is not promised and life will never be perfect, bad things will happen, but you will make it out stronger when you overcome the un-overcomeable.
I appreciate you, this book and Just wow. Thank you. Dec 05, TheWriter rated it it was amazing. I was given this book by the author in exchange for a honest review! So here you go This book has many layers to it. What I mean by that is, it can and will appeal to many different types of people. There were some parts more than others that I related too, as I'm sure most of you as readers will too.
I will warn you this some parts are not easy to read, especially if you have been through or experienced the same issues. Saying that I will also say it is well worth it too continue on.
You can I was given this book by the author in exchange for a honest review! You can tell the author put her heart and soul in this book. I normally don't cry in books and I cried like a baby a couple times! She falls in love with a boy only to be broken hearted the trend continues.
Then she finds her soul mate. For him only to be ripped from her! When she finally thinks things are going to be going good, what happens?
The oh so dreaded curse she seems to have! So she is back to square one! Then if all be damn if her night and shining armor shouldn't appear again!
Or is It wrong?! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! It may be a roller coaster of emotions, but it was one hell of a ride!!! Great job Kimber! Nov 13, Mandi rated it it was amazing Shelves: arc-for-review , wordwenchesguiltypleasure. How do I even begin with Lil's story? The author ripped my soul out, stomped on it, and then did a little bit more ripping at my heart.
Enter Lilith. For the sake of the book, Lilith is the heart of Lil, or her voice. Her true persona. I think that in order to truly grasp this book and have an emotional gut check, you need to have that Lilith living inside. I guess I am one of those people. Life has chewed me up and spit me out.
I connected to this story on a personal level in many ways, and feel like the author has taken what many of us are unable to say and put into words. And I thank her for that. There were a couple of times that I was unsure if I was going to be able to finish just based on the emotions that the book pulled out of me. In the end, I think that it is a gentle reminder of true love, and honest to goodness, loving the one you are truly meant to be with.
Jan 07, Kelly 'Perusing Princesses blog' rated it really liked it. ARC received author for an honest review at: www. However, I feel the need to write something - if anything, to expel my thoughts and to help ease the myriad of emotions that are pouring through me right now.
My poor heart. I believe it may never recover! My current mantra is 'What the fuck did I just read? Told i ARC received author for an honest review at: www. Told in memoir form we follow the story of Lillian Shaw, the innocent and popular school girl with a big heart, as she steps out from the confines of a loving childhood into the complex world of puberty and beyond. We witness first hand how she goes from a beautiful child to a broken and emotionally scarred woman after enduring more than her fair share of insufferable heartache To put it simply, her life is one giant clusterfuck after another!
Life dealt her a hand that she had no choice but to play. Her only coping mechanism and refuge came in Lilly, her alter-ago, a. Although, her sanity was questionable throughout most of this book, I found her resilience and strength through her hardships most inspiring Her actions in these dark times tore my heart into a million tiny pieces, as the downward spiral finally took its toll. I'm not saying Lillian didn't bring some of these things on herself. Her serious lack of filter from brain to mouth was laugh out loud genius at times, and she did have a tendency to push people at arms length when feeling overwhelmed.
I say this with all good intentions but if she could manifest through the words of the written page, I have no doubt she would gladly smack this author in the face for everything she put her through. My goodness, I can't tell you how many times my eyes welled with tears while reading Lillian' s tale.
I read some parts of this story curled in the foetal position, my kindle curled to my chest. Yeah, no shit! I can't go into a full overview because this is a journey that you need to take on your own. It's a full on, real life experience read that stems over the course of 20 years. It tells us that life, at times, can be hard and cruel, yet it can also be beautiful. Life can throw you a curve ball and rock your world, knocking it off its axis, but what is important is how you deal with it.
Lillian wasn't an angel, she made mistakes and in the process distanced herself from the ones she loved. Besides the close connection to her Brother and Best Friend, Allen, Lillian had never connected to another. Not until him. What is it to find your soul mate to then lose him overnight?
To simply disappear into thin air, never to be seen again? For 20 years she has been plagued by the memory of him, she can still see his face, hear his voice, remember his scent. The flow was, at times, erratic and the overuse of the word 'baby' grated a little, but in all fairness to the author, I received an ARC that was still in need of editing and formatting so I'm not going to judge my review based on this, but rather praise Kimber S.
Dawn in delivering an unforgettable story of one woman's plight to find her happily ever after, in a world where fairy tales cease to exist. The writing gets a 3, the story and how it kept me hooked from the 3rd chapter in, gets a 4. This is a commendable effort, I just wish my copy was edited by a pro before distribution. My advice to those brave enough: Put your big girl pants on and invest in a mansize box of tissues because you're gonna need them!
Nov 21, Autumn rated it it was amazing. I give this book 5 stars I would give more If I could I was given this book in exchange for a honest review. This book was so well written it was like you were walking in Lil's shoes.
This book tore me up inside and out. It brings you up with happy moments only to crash you down with the bad. And let me tell you the bad sucks the big one. I cried through most of this book in part because some of the stuff really home for me and the author does a wonderful job getting those feelings on paper. Th I give this book 5 stars I would give more If I could I was given this book in exchange for a honest review. This is a book has a lot of really life problem in it so everyone can relate to something in it.
I think most people will relate to a lot It brings out a lot of emotion in a person as i said before i cried through most of this book but I also yelled and punched my chair shaking my head saying WHY!!!
My kids and husband where looking at me like i was nuts but this book is so good it got that big of a reaction from me. So if you are looking for a book that will change you life and maybe make you feel like your not alone with feelings to certain thing then this book is for you. If you want a book that will in some ways always stay with you then this book is for you. I mean come on your daughter is depressed and not herself after she loses Leo the first time why didn't they get her the help that she needed then.
Didn't they know that in her own way she was crying out for help. I have been there with the depression, eating disorders and drugs I'm not proud of that time in my life but I have family to help me and it killed me that Lil didn't have that.
