Interested applications should complete an on-line application form to begin the application process. Dates, hours, salary and responsibilities for all positions vary by program, site, and position.

Please see the program announcements linked above for details. Room, board and travel expenses are not covered. Participants are responsible for making their own housing arrangements.

Each summer, there are many STP staff members who are interested in finding roommates and sharing housing.

Once accepted to a position, staff members will have the opportunity to join a social media group to meet and communicate with other staff members to make housing and carpool arrangements. After completing your application form, you will receive a link to enter names and email addresses for your three recommenders. Each recommender will receive an email with a unique link to upload your letter of recommendation to our system. You should request letters of recommendation from people who know you well and can speak about your skills in relation to the position for which you are applying.

Your letters may be academic, professional or personal in nature. If you have worked in a research lab, you should consider requesting a letter from your research supervisor. If you played on a sports team, you should consider asking your coach to submit a letter in support of your application. Coaches may be able to write about teamwork, leadership, and your ability to work under pressure in ways that other recommenders may not.

You may request personal letters of recommendation from people who know you well and can describe your strengths and skills. However, given the competitive nature of the application process, we recommend that some of your letters are academic or professional in nature.
